- Notification Difficulty Low
You submit the statutory report form and required documents. Once the documents are in order the report is accepted; for some reports the authority checks the contents before accepting it.
- 01
Check the products to subdivide: Make a list of the products you plan to subdivide and first confirm that it contains no prohibited items such as fish meat products, canned or bottled products, retort foods or starch, and that any soy-based sauces or vinegar are individually packaged products.
- 02
Review the building use and layout: Before signing a lease, check the use of the premises on the building register and whether the subdivision room can be separated from the sales area by a wall or partition, with clean and general zones kept apart.
- 03
Install the facilities: Install subdivision and packaging equipment, storage for raw materials and finished products, and washing and disinfection facilities, and if you use groundwater or other non-tap water, obtain a water quality test report from a drinking water testing institution.
- 04
Complete hygiene training: As a rule, the business operator completes food hygiene training before filing the report, and since the training provider and format differ by business type, confirm them at the time of application.
- 05
File the business report: Submit the business report with the training certificate, a water quality test report (if applicable) and a floor plan of the premises to the city, county or district office; the official checks the building register and land use plan confirmation through shared administrative information.
- 06
On-site check and labeling: If a facility check is needed, it takes place within 15 days of the certificate being issued, and any shortfall must be corrected before a re-inspection. Subdivided products must be labeled with the product name, ingredients, use-by date, storage method, subdivider information, allergens and similar items.
