F-6 marriage immigration: spouse visa documents and stay extension

We prepare separate document sets for an F-6 spouse visa at a Korean diplomatic mission and a domestic stay extension while the marriage continues. For a spouse invitation, we check marriage, income, housing, communication and applicable exemptions. For a domestic extension, we review current stay, marriage and address evidence and handle the selected electronic or in-person filing. Initial registration after entry, parent invitations, permanent residence and nationality are separate services. Family-centre counselling, education and daily-life support are outside this fee scope.

Procedure

Procedure

Procedure type
  • Permit Difficulty High

A procedure that allows a business, activity or stay that the law generally restricts, after review; licenses fall into this type. The authority reviews facility standards, location and consultation with other agencies, and a permit can be refused if the standards are not met.

  1. 01

Select scope and jurisdiction: distinguish an F-6 spouse visa at a Korean mission from a domestic extension while the marriage continues. Set one route for one couple and one applicant; check the competent mission’s visa rules or the residence-area immigration office’s extension rules and deadline.

  2. 02

For an invitation, review evidence: reconcile marriage/invitation history, relationship chronology, photos and exchanges, income, housing, communication and actual exemptions. Prepare conditional health or criminal-history materials only as required by the mission; a separate exemption explanation is additional scope.

  3. 03

For an invitation, prepare official forms: assist with the Korean spouse’s invitation and the foreign spouse’s marriage-background statement and cross-check them. Reuse shared facts and complete the visa application, required guarantee and attachments. Do not count both official forms again as separate long free-form narratives.

  4. 04

For a domestic extension: review continued marriage, current stay, address and requested evidence, then prepare the integrated application, required authorization and attachments. Do not recreate invitation or relationship-history documents. Marital breakdown, domestic violence and other new issues require their own actual scope.

  5. 05

Separate filing and personal acts: deliver invitation documents and guide the applicant’s mission visit/interview. For extensions, distinguish permitted electronic filing, documents for personal filing and the option including one Incheon office filing visit. Signatures, identity checks, fingerprints and interviews are personal. Link initial registration after entry to the common registration service.

  6. 06

Supplementation and result: include two ordinary supplement rounds totalling one hour and receipt, result and approval-condition checks for the selected application. Parent invitations, permanent residence, nationality and family-centre counselling, education or daily-life support are excluded from this invitation/extension scope.
